Public Policy Connecticut Federal

Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut works on both state and national levels to insure progressive health care reform policies that meet the needs of individuals and small employers in Connecticut.

Federal health care reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), and state health reform, overseen by the SustiNet Health Care Cabinet and the Office of Health Reform and Innovation, seek the same results:

  • Improve access to health care and health insurance coverage (Access)
  • Bend the health care cost curve, to ease the burden on government budgets and residents’ pocketbooks (Lower Cost)
  • Improve the care delivered by the health care system so that it is efficient, effective, safe, timely, patient-centered, equitable and produces better health outcomes (Better Care)
  • Improve the overall health of the population (Better Health)

These goals are very much interconnected.
